Lions Clubs of Multiple District 36, Oregon and Northern California

We Serve

Lions of Oregon & Northern California are a part of an international network of 1.4 million men and women in 200 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Lions are best known for working to end preventable blindness, the giving of eyeglasses and hearing aids for the needy and local service projects.

Mission Statement of Lions Clubs International:

"To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation."

March is upon us and you know what that means…

District Convention is coming up soon! End of the month. Activities are shared with:

Merrill Lions are hosting the 36-E District Council Meeting Friday March 27, 1 pm. Before the meeting they are providing loaded baked potato lunch at noon, no charge (But we know Lions always accept donations.)  Merrill Civic Center, 365 W. Front St. Merrill OR

Klamath Fall: Evening Meet and Greet with ID Debbie Cantrell of Marshfield Missouri, at the Red Rooster Grill and Pub.  (Please keep Debbie in your prayers as she is going through aggressive chemo, and we hope she will be well enough to visit us.) Pending Guest is Linda Barbara with the Magic Yarn Project, which has been adopted by MD-4 as a certified Pediatric Cancer Project.

Dorris Lions – Full Day Convention at the Butte Valley Community Center (the Log Cabin) just across the OR/CA border. This place is amazing and the Dorris Lions have incredible community support programs.

So now lets get down to the “brass tacks”.  We will vote for 2026-27 District Governor, 1st Vice District Governor and 2nd Vice District Governor. We have very qualified candidates for DG, Barb Dehlinger of Merrill Lions, and 1VDG, Valerie Rudolph of Bandon Lions. But we need more Progression Planning. I am asking qualified Lions to step forward for the 2nd Vice District Governor. Requirements? 1. Home Club Approval. 2. Served as Club President a year or major part thereof. 3. Served on District Council a year-ish. (Zone Chair, Committee Chair, or one of many others.) Now, this may seem daunting, but there is incredible training and support from the district, Multiple District and LCI. You are not in it alone, not at all. Meeting the Challenge is very rewarding: personal growth, working with amazing people, lasting relationships. By the way – the same applies to Club and Council Positions. We cannot survive the changing world without embracing the new. If we do not grow, we stagnate. Yuk! Any questions – just ask. Or, on your own phone or computer, check out Lions International website, Lions Portal, LionsUSA.ORG, LionsVirtual.ORG, or You-Tube/Lions. MD36 website, including the Constitution and Bylaws where positions are described.

I hope to see MANY of y’all in Dorris.

Will you not help me hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness; no little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided? I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?
