Lions Clubs of Multiple District 36, Oregon and Northern California

We Serve

Lions of Oregon & Northern California are a part of an international network of 1.4 million men and women in 200 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Lions are best known for working to end preventable blindness, the giving of eyeglasses and hearing aids for the needy and local service projects.

Mission Statement of Lions Clubs International:

"To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation."

When many Lions step forward together, a community is transformed.

Every day, in ways both big and small, we prove that service is more than something we do-it’s who we are. When one Lion steps forward, a life is touched. When many Lions step forward together, a community is transformed.

As we move into this holiday season of service, let us remember what sets Lions apart: compassion in action, strength in unity, and the courage to lead where help is needed. Each new project, each new idea, and each new member strengthens our ability to make a lasting difference.

Let us continue to inspire one another, to welcome new hands into our work, and to lift our communities with the same dedication that has guided Lions for generations. May our service be a light-and may that light spread farther than we can imagine.

The theme for this year’s 36-G district convention is “Building a Stronger Lions Club, One Member at a Time.”  During the convention, we will be working to discover new techniques to grow our clubs and ways to make the meeting time a fun experience.  It is my goal to see at least a 10% increase in our club membership by July 1st, 2026.  Can we do it?  Let’s grow big.

I believe we can by working together.  You will be hearing more about supporting a city-wide membership drive in the spring.

Together, We Serve.

Together, We Grow.

Together, we make the impossible possible.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

DG Timothy J. McGlothlin

Will you not help me hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness; no little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided? I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?
