District O April DG Message

Spring is a time of renewal, growth, and new opportunities, and it is a perfect season for Lions to continue strengthening our clubs and our service to the community. As we move into this new season, I would like to challenge every club in the district to add at least one new member. Each new Lion brings fresh ideas, energy, and additional hands to help expand the impact of our service. Membership growth ensures that our clubs remain healthy, vibrant, and able to meet the needs of the communities we proudly serve.

Another opportunity just ahead is our next Lions Week of Service, which will focus on environmental projects. This is a great time for clubs to plan activities such as planting trees, organizing community clean-ups, promoting recycling, or hosting awareness programs about protecting our environment. Even small projects can make a big difference when Lions come together in service.

We recently held an amazing District Convention, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event. It was a wonderful gathering filled with fellowship, learning, and celebration of the great work being done throughout the district. A special thank you goes to the planning team whose dedication and hard work made the convention such a success.

Looking ahead, the Lions Multiple District Convention will be held in Springfield, Oregon, on May 29–30. I encourage members to consider attending. There will be many opportunities for learning, sharing ideas, and enjoying fellowship with Lions from across the state.

Together, let’s continue making a difference this spring through service, growth, and community impact.

Will you not help me hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness; no little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided? I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?
