November — A Season of Gratitude, Service & Growing Our Lions Family

Greeting Lions,

As November arrives, we enter one of the most meaningful times of the year—a season filled with gratitude, family, friendship, and opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. As Lions, we have so much for which to be thankful. We have the privilege of serving our communities, helping those in need, building friendships, and being part of an organization that makes a difference locally and around the world.

November 14th is World Diabetes Day. Why not plan a membership event that focuses on Diabetes?  Invite a friend, neighbor, co-worker, family member, or someone you meet through a community project. They may already have a heart for service but simply have never been asked to join us. Combining one of our Global Causes with such an event is a win-win situation. When people see the smiles, friendships, and positive impact created by Lions, they can understand what makes our organization so special.

Remember, membership is not simply about numbers. Every new member is another pair of hands, another caring heart, another voice for service, and another opportunity to make a difference.

As Thanksgiving approaches, let us pause to appreciate our Lions family and the countless volunteers who give their time and talents throughout Oregon and Northern California. Let us also make time to enjoy our families and friends and celebrate the special moments that make this season so meaningful.

May your November be filled with gratitude, laughter, fellowship, and service. And as we gather around holiday tables, let us remember those who may be alone or struggling and find ways to bring them a little extra kindness.

Together, we can welcome new Lions, strengthen our clubs, serve our communities, and continue building a legacy of service that will inspire others for years to come.

Happy Thanksgiving, Lions! Keep serving, keep inviting, and most importantly—keep enjoying the wonderful journey of being a Lion!

With gratitude and Lions pride,

District 36R Governor Karen Norton

“Will you not help me hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness; no little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided? I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?”
