Lions of Oregon & Northern California are a part of an international network of 1.4 million men and women in 200 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Lions are best known for working to end preventable blindness, the giving of eyeglasses and hearing aids for the needy and local service projects.

Greetings to District 36R Lions

I try to stay very positive and right now, I am just that! Within the first two months of the new Lions year, our District has so much potential. I saw so many great events & innovative ideas in my visitations during my first year as District Governor. I’m looking forward to a positive year with lots of new and inventive ideas for fundraising, service projects & social activities.

Of course, my number one goal is to find a Vice District Governor. Since I can only be District Governor for 2 years, it is so important to Leave a Lion Legacy. I feel that being a District Governor is such an honor and I want other Lions to understand what a pleasure it is to meet and get to know so many District club members and find out what works for them and their clubs. Leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about helping others discover their potential.

My District update for this month is that we are moving forward in a positive way. We are looking for ways to help incoming officers have the best year possible. This year I have plans to involve my Cabinet and PDG’s more and provide the training that will help all Lions succeed. Please look at our District 36R website for exciting updates.

My second goal is to find ways to advertise Lions. I am part of a committee applying for a Multiple District Marketing Grant. I believe that visibility is the key to getting more members and therefore more service. I am looking for other Grants that might help our District.

We are in the process of getting a new club started in Sweet Home. It’s so empowering to talk to potential Lions and tell them what we do as Lions.

Service is never a solo journey. Every act of kindness becomes more powerful when hearts unite around a common purpose.

Every Lion wears the same emblem, but each of us carries a unique story of service. Together, those stories become a legacy that changes lives.
